Garner Quain and Megan MacQuarrie opened Flex in the summer of 2005 as an
18 seat take-out shack on the waterfront in Summerside, PEI, selling mussels, homecut fries and a unique lobster roll. It was an instant hit with locals and travellers alike,
getting praise in the
New York Times after only eight weeks. After a second
season, it became clear that larger digs were needed, and after forming
a partnership with
Day Boat owners Robert and Laura Shapiro,
Flex moved to a new home on the bustling Charlottetown
waterfront, with a spirited new menu, now-famous
desserts, and hey look,
